Scholarship Overview
We take pride in providing students with a variety of institutional scholarships that are renewable based solely on their GPA. Out-of-state students can earn up to $64,000 for their entire KU career, while Kansans can earn over $20,000 over four years.

Eligibility Criteria
- For International Students:
- You are not a citizen or permanent resident of the United States and live outside the U.S.
- You are an international student at another U.S. institution and you are currently in F-1 status (including OPT) or J-1 status (including Academic Training)
- You are currently on an H1B visa
- You are currently on a dependent visa — e.g., F-2, J-2, or H-4
- Scholarship Eligibility:
- Your testing agency sent your English proficiency results to KU. Scores are used to place students in suitable ESL courses as necessary or to assess preparation for degree study. A minimum English proficiency score is not necessary for admission, but it must be submitted with your application. Find out more about the prerequisites for English.
- Evidence of your nation’s high school graduation. These credentials are not required of transfer students who have more than 24 transferable credit hours. Find out more about the qualifications and prerequisites for admission.
- academic histories. Although KU must acquire official transcripts prior to your enrollment in an academic program, we are able to accept unofficial transcripts as part of your application. Applicants for transfers who have attended American colleges or institutions are required to provide authentic transcripts as a part of their application.
- Statement of Educational Gap, if appropriate. You must submit a brief statement regarding your activities during any time following high school that you were not enrolled in any educational program for more than three months. Provide details about any courses you have taken.
- Third-party release page, if appropriate. If a recruitment agent, organization, or other individual is helping you with your application, fill out this section of the application.
- Scores on the SAT or ACT, if applicable. Verify whether a score is part of your school’s requirements.
Renewal
- The student needs to be enrolled full-time and maintain a 3.0 KU GPA.
- Scholarships are awarded for eight consecutive semesters of study or for the student’s first bachelor’s degree, whichever comes first.
