International scholarships at Lesley University offer significant financial assistance to students worldwide, enabling them to achieve their academic goals in a friendly and diverse setting.
The small, private Lesley University is proud to have graduated more specialized education teachers and mental health specialists than any other college or university in New England. Lesley is well-known for its distinctive portfolio of programs centered on education, mental health and well-being, and art and design. It is situated in the bustling city of Cambridge, Massachusetts, close to Harvard Square, just outside of Boston.
In addition, the institution provides programs in business and liberal arts that complement these important subjects, as well as a unique initiative called the Threshold initiative that allows neuro-diverse people to study on campus or receive assistance with independent living and employment. Graduate students make up more than half of Lesley’s 4,500 total student body.

Scholarship Overview
We only offer a small number of merit scholarships to students from other countries. The merit scholarship will not be awarded to every overseas student.
As a transfer or first-year student, you will be eligible to apply for a Lesley University merit scholarship. You don’t have to complete any further application forms.
Based on your strong academic record and proven ability to succeed in the future, merit scholarships are given out. When students apply to the College of Art & Design, we also take their portfolio strength into account. We only offer a small number of merit scholarships to students from other countries. The merit scholarship will not be awarded to every overseas student.
Your scholarship may be renewed annually if you continue to make sufficient academic progress toward your degree, maintain good academic standing, and enroll in at least 12 credits per semester (full-time status).
Types of Scholarships:
- Lesley Merit Scholarships:
For international students, we only have a small number of merit scholarships available. Not every international student will be awarded a scholarship based on merit. When you apply as a transfer or first-year student, you will be given consideration for a Lesley University merit scholarship. Additional application forms are not required of you. - USI (Urban Scholars Initiative): 50% tuition reduction. Lesley University offers financial aid to students in need through partnerships with a number of community groups. First-year and transfer undergraduate students from our partner community groups can receive 50% off their Lesley tuition through the Urban Scholars Initiative.
- Community Scholarships for First-Year Students: Additionally, certain undergraduate scholarships are offered to students from particular institutions or localities.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for International Scholarships at Lesley University is given below:
- When you apply as a transfer or first-year student, you will be given consideration for a Lesley University merit scholarship.
- Merit scholarships are given out according to your academic record’s strength and your proven ability to succeed in the future.
In-Eligible Candidates:
Students who are not eligible for Lesley undergraduate merit scholarships include:
- Possess a bachelor’s degree already.
- Are signing up for our Adult Learning Division’s bachelor’s degree completion program.
- Are enrolled in the Council of Independent Colleges Program (CIC) or the Tuition Exchange Program (TE) and have received a tuition scholarship from either program.
