General Eligibility Criteria
Depending on the type of scholarship, Uppsala University may have different requirements. But generally speaking, the applicants need to meet the following requirements:
You have to be from a country that isn’t Switzerland, the EU, or the EEA.
Academic competence and a desire to engage in educational activities are prerequisites.
Your Master’s program application had to be turned in before the university’s admissions deadline.
The Master’s program for which you applied must be open to you. Before the deadline, you must send your application fee and all other supporting papers to University Admissions.

How to Apply
Scholarship applications for Uppsala University and applications for bachelor’s or master’s degrees must be sent in separately.
Step 1: Prior to submitting an application for scholarships from Uppsala University, you must first apply to one of the university’s international bachelor’s or master’s programs at universityadmissions.se.
After submitting your application at universityadmissions.se, you will be assigned a unique application number consisting of eight digits. You’ll need the number to apply for one of our scholarships, so keep it close to hand.
Step 2: Apply for scholarships at Uppsala University before the due date. Your application should include the following information:

Your first choice is the bachelor’s or master’s degree offered by Uppsala University.
For which scholarship program or programs are you applying?
The special application ID that universityadmissions.se provided you
Motivational letter outlining your qualifications for the scholarship
The application is available online during the January 2026–February 2026 scholarship application session.Official website

Application Deadline
Applications for scholarships at Uppsala University must be submitted by early February 2026 at 23:59 Central European Time (CET). Please remember the time zone. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered. The application time for 2025 is now over. Early in 2026 is when the next application period will open.
