Eligibility Criteria
Everyone has to fulfill the following criteria to be eligible for University of Oregon International Scholarships:
- Academic Performance: Assessed through transcripts from all prior institutions, along with any applicable University of Oregon records.
- Extracurricular Activities: Involvement in activities outside of academics is taken into account.
- Faculty Recommendation: Required for continuing, transfer, graduate, and law students.
- Writing Proficiency: Evaluated through responses to short-answer essay questions.
- Creativity: Shown in the essay responses.
- Application Submission: Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
Deadline
For Incoming First Year Students:
- The General University Scholarships are automatically awarded to incoming first-year students who submit their undergraduate entrance application by January 15.
- For prospective first-year students, there is no need to submit a separate General University Scholarship application.
For New Graduate and New Law Applicants:
- The deadline to apply to the University of Oregon International Scholarships is February 15.
- Your UO Student ID number will appear in your Status Portal within a few days of submitting your admissions application. This number is required to register for an account and submit an application for a UO scholarship.
- By February 28th, submit your online application for the General University Scholarship through the Scholarship Dashboard.
Ask a professor or instructor to submit your letter of recommendation online by February 28 through the Scholarship Dashboard.
