Types of Scholarships

There are 2 types of International Scholarships at the University of Suffolk:

  1. International Merit Scholarship (2025/26)
  2. Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence in Health Scholarship (2025/26)
  1. International Merit Scholarship (2025/26)
    1. The University of Suffolk International Merit Scholarship (2025–6) program aims to draw in and honor international students who have excelled academically in their prior coursework.
    2. There is no need for a separate application because this scholarship is awarded automatically. This scholarship will be given to undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled in two-year full-time programs who pay full tuition each year; the details and exclusions are listed below.
    3. The number of prizes available for the 2025–06 academic year is unlimited. Scholarships will be offered as a reduction in the tuition that must be paid when a student enrolls in the university. Payment cannot be deducted from a mandatory CAS deposit.
    4. Undergraduate courses:
      • Applicants who fulfill the stated entrance conditions will receive £2,000.
      • Applicants who surpass the stated entry requirements will get £3,000.
    5. Programs taught by postgraduate students:
      • Candidates with bachelor’s degrees equivalent to 2:2 (lower second) levels will get £1,000.
      • Candidates with bachelor’s degrees equivalent to 2:1 (upper second) classes will get £2,000.
      • Candidates holding a first-class equivalent bachelor’s degree will receive £3,000.
    6. Eligibility Criteria:
      • To qualify for the 2025–06 International Merit Scholarship, candidates need to:
        • Be categorized as overseas (international fees), For fee purposes.
        • Have applied to a course given at the undergraduate or graduate level by the Campus of the University of Suffolk in Ipswich
        • I’ve applied to start my studies in the 2025–06 school year.
        • Maintain a full-time study schedule
        • Applicants must be undergraduates beginning their first year of study.
    7. Exclusion From International Scholarships at the University of Suffolk:
      • Scholarships have no monetary value and are only given out as fee reductions.
      • As long as they stick to their original course of study, undergraduate students will get the scholarship in every academic year (except sandwich years).
      • Students enrolled in a full-time, one-year postgraduate program will receive an initial invoice reflecting the grant.
      • The scholarship will be applied in each year of study for students enrolled full-time in a two-year postgraduate teaching program.
      • The two-year MSc Strategic People program’s students
      • The entire discount will be distributed equally across the two academic years for Management with Extended Practice.
      • To be eligible, students must be enrolled in the whole program; credit transfer students are not eligible for this grant.
      • Individuals pursuing postgraduate research (PhD/MPhil) are not eligible for this award.
      • Students who pay home-rate or UK tuition costs are not eligible for this award.
      • Those who receive a scholarship with a conditional offer and subsequently don’t fulfill the requirements will have their scholarship offer revoked.
      • The complete repayment of the scholarship will be expected of students who leave school midway through.
      • Scholarship offers must be used during the 2025–06 academic year and cannot be postponed to a later one.
      • This grant is only available to applicants for undergraduate and graduate programs that are entirely taught by the University of Suffolk at its Ipswich location.
      • Those who have graduated from the University of Suffolk are not eligible for this award. The Alumni Postgraduate Loyalty Scheme is a resource for alumni.
      • It is not possible to combine this scholarship with any other University of Suffolk discounts or scholarships.
    8. Deadline
      • Foreign candidates: December 1
      • Domestic candidates: January 4 and beyond
      • Consideration for the SBS Fellowship: November 1
  2. Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence in Health Scholarship (2025/26):
    1. Scholarship Overview:
      • The goal of the University of Suffolk Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence in Health Scholarship (2025–206) is to draw and honor outstanding worldwide candidates. Recipients will have a stellar academic record and demonstrate a dedication to using the health professions to better the lives of others.
      • During the 2025–2026 academic year, the University of Suffolk will grant fifty (50) Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence in Health scholarships. As you can see from the comments and exclusions below, scholarships of £4,000 are awarded for each year of full-time study. The awards will be distributed between the January and September intakes.
      • Eligible applicants will be contacted to submit a scholarship application before the deadline; this is not an automatic scholarship.
      • Scholarships will be offered as a reduction in the tuition that must be paid when a student enrolls at the university. Payment cannot be deducted from a mandatory CAS deposit.
    2. Eligibility:
      • The Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence in Health Scholarship (2025–6) requires candidates to:
      • Obtain a conditional or unconditional offer for a 180-credit or 360-credit undergraduate program.
      • postgraduate course conducted at the University of Suffolk’s campus in Ipswich
      • Maintain a full-time study schedule.
      • Applying to start classes in the 2025–06 academic year and being self-funded, as well as being categorized as overseas for financial purposes (international costs)
      • Having applied for the Vice-Chancellor’s Excellence in Health Scholarship (2025/6) before the deadline (see below)
      • Applicants for undergraduate programs must be enrolled in Year 1 (Level 4) of study.
    3. Eligible Programmes:
      • BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing
      • BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography
      • BSc (Hons) Mental Health Nursing
      • BSc (Hons) Radiotherapy and Oncology
      • MSc Adult Nursing (Pre-registration)
      • MSc Diagnostic Radiography (Pre-registration)
    4. Notes and Exclusion:
      • The same exclusions as explained above in International Merit Scholarship (2025/26)
    5. Deadline:
      • Applications for this scholarship must be submitted by April 25, 2025, for September 2025 starters, and September 12, 2025, for January 2026 starters.
      • Successful applicants will receive scholarship offers no later than four weeks following the deadline for scholarship applications.
