Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarships for Domestic and International Students:
Applications for many fully funded Master’s and PhD scholarship spots through the Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarships are currently being accepted by the University of New South Wales. UNSW Research Scholarships, which are funded by the Australian government, are available to both domestic and international students enrolling in postgraduate programs that focus on research, including Ph.D. and research master’s degrees. Scholarships from RTP/RTPI include both living expenses and tuition.

Successful candidates for the Australian Government Research Training Program (RTP) Scholarships would receive full tuition reimbursement, a living stipend of $38,438 annually (2025 rate), and Overseas Student Health Coverage (OSHC) from the University of New South Wales. The fellowship is available for two years for research master’s students and three and a half years for PhD students.

The grants are available for all university academic programs. Applicants can apply for the scholarships while they are applying to be admitted to a research degree program.
The duration of the UIPA scholarships is two years for research master’s students and three and a half years for PhD students. Those who are accepted will get full tuition support, Overseas Student Health Coverage (OSHC), and a living allowance of $38,438 per year (2025 rate).

This grant is only available to PhD candidates who plan to start their studies at UNSW in Term 3 of each year. Apply for admission to UNSW and a UNSW-CSC scholarship before the scholarship deadline. If you receive an unconditional offer of admission and a scholarship from UNSW, the next step is to apply to the CSC.
