Cambridge International Scholarships Study in UK Masters/Ph.d

The purpose of the Cambridge International Scholarships and Vice-Chancellor’s Awards…

The purpose of the Cambridge International Scholarships and Vice-Chancellor’s Awards is to ensure that the highest-achieving students, irrespective of their nationality, get full financial support for their PhD studies. The university employs 12,000 people from all over the world and with more than 20,000 students. At Cambridge University, no two days are ever the same. The university is made up of departments, colleges, faculties, and schools. Although they are subject to separate laws and rules, the 31 Colleges are essential to the University’s composition.

Students belong to both the university and a department or faculty. Our students are part of the college community as well. This system provides each person with academic and pastoral support. One of the 31 independent colleges inside the university is where students live, eat, and interact with one another. Small-group instruction and college supervision are provided to undergraduates. One of the greatest teaching models in the world is thought to be supervision.

Every college has internal protocols of its own. Under university rules, they choose their own students. Undergraduate and graduate students are admitted to the majority of colleges. The University Council and Finance Committee is composed of delegates from colleges.

Scholarship Overview

The goal of the Vice-Chancellor’s Awards and Cambridge International Scholarships is to guarantee that the top-scoring students, regardless of their nationality, have complete financial assistance for their doctoral studies. The scholarships cover a single person’s maintenance expenses as well as the University Composition Fee (UCF).

All PhD applicants from all disciplines will be included in a single, graded list created by a university committee. The only criteria that were taken into account when approving this list were research potential, references, and academic credentials. The choice of scholarship recipients is not influenced by applicants’ financial status.

The Trust will, when appropriate, promote Cambridge International Scholarship and Vice-Chancellor’s Award winners to other full-cost awards with partner organizations, UK Research Councils, departments, or Colleges that are willing to cover all or a portion of the scholarship’s cost to maximize the number of Cambridge scholarships given out. The Trust will cover the remaining amount when a scholarship is offered.

Applying for Postgraduate Funding

There are the following steps to apply for Cambridge International Scholarships:

  1. Find your course and college:
    • Candidates may pursue any course that the University of Cambridge currently offers.
    • For further details, please see the postgraduate course directory.
    • Investigate your selected degree of study in depth before applying to the University (via the University postgraduate website).
    • Colleges:
    • The University of Cambridge is made up of 31 colleges in addition to more than 150 departments, faculties, and institutes. Each is a separate organization with its assets, revenue, and personnel.
    • Additionally, each postgraduate student joins one of the Colleges.
    • When applying to postgraduate studies, you have the option of selecting one of two colleges or leaving that field empty, in which case any college will consider you.
    • Every student, regardless of level, who receives an admission offer to the university will be assigned to one of the colleges; no student comes to Cambridge to study without becoming a member of one of the colleges.
    • The Trust has no say in whether colleges accept candidates or how accommodations are allocated.
    • Each of the 31 colleges has its unique environment, facilities, size, and makeup. However, the goal of all colleges is to give their students a secure, supportive, and engaging environment. For postgraduate applicants, more details are accessible.
    • Some scholarship programs are offered to applicants for specific colleges; see the websites of the relevant colleges and our scholarship search for more details.
  2. Find Your Cambridge International Scholarships:
    • Use our scholarship search to find out which Trust scholarships you might qualify for.
    • Because some scholarships require a separate application and may have extra requirements, please carefully read the material provided for each one.
    • International students who require financial assistance face fierce competition for funding. We anticipate that financially needy students will look into and apply for all available scholarships and, if necessary, submit applications to the Trust’s funding partners.
  3. Submit your application for admission:
    • You must indicate your desire to be considered for financing in the funding area of the online admissions application form through the Applicant Portal if you want to be considered for a scholarship from the Trust. This needs to be turned in by the course-specific funding date.
    • For courses beginning in the 2025–2026 academic year, the general course funding deadlines are Tuesday, December 3, 2024, and Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
    • You can check your subject in the postgraduate course directory if you are unsure of the financing deadline for your degree. The funding deadline is displayed as a drop-down menu on the right-hand side of each course page. Noting that you are searching for the financing deadline rather than the application deadline is crucial.
    • The same funding deadline applies to any of the beginning terms of an academic year: Michaelmas Term (October), Lent Term (January), and Easter Term (April).
    • Certain scholarships need you to express your desire to be considered, but you will be considered for any awards for which you may qualify.
  4. The Award Process:
    • The awarding procedure for the Trust is a continuous process that lasts from March to July. We want to give out rewards as soon as possible, however, some partner-funded awards may take time, and we might be able to offer them elsewhere if an offer is turned down.
    • We recognize that this can be a stressful time for candidates, but we also appreciate your patience while you await a decision.
    • You will be considered for any prizes for which you qualify as long as you apply by the funding deadline and have a conditional offer of admission for your course. Until the conclusion of our awards period, your application will continue to be reviewed.
    • Please be aware that the Trust is unable to notify rejected candidates or offer specific feedback due to the volume of applications it receives. We’ll notify the recipients as soon as we can.

Deadline

For courses beginning in the 2025–2026 academic year, the general course funding deadlines are Tuesday, December 3, 2024, and Tuesday, January 7, 2025.

Application Procedure

The following procedure should be used to apply for Cambridge International Scholarships:

  1. Postgraduate scholarships are exclusively available for study at the University of Cambridge. To be eligible, you must receive a conditional offer of admission and apply to the university for admission by the applicable funding deadline (for further information, see Applying for Postgraduate Funding).
  2. You can apply for financing as part of your application for university admission, so you don’t have to apply to the Cambridge Trust directly.
  3. The University of Cambridge must admit all students using the standard application processes. The Trust has no say in when applicants are admitted to the University and has no control over whether an applicant will be given a spot.
  4. Verify the postgraduate requirements as the university establishes minimum norms.
  5. It is advised that applicants fulfill the University’s entrance requirements as soon as possible, including taking an English language test if required. By doing this, the Trust will be able to stop providing worthwhile scholarships to candidates who are ultimately unable to enroll at Cambridge.
